The Aurora
by Habring²
8.900,00 € (vat excl.)
Few are aware that the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition was composed of two ships: the renowned Endurance and the lesser-known syster ship the“Aurora.” Both vessels serve as remarkable testaments to human resilience. When Habring² and CronotempVs Collectors embarked on a mission to create a watch with unique characteristics, the journey led by Ernest Shackleton, which commenced in 1914, immediately came to mind. This adventure stands as one of the most extraordinary and enduring testimonies to human survival in history. Little did Shackleton and his crew realise that over a century later, the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition would continue to captivate the world’s imagination, not for achieving a specific goal, but rather for its remarkable ability to overcome extreme adversity. What more fitting way to honour these men and their three-year ordeal in the unforgiving Arctic than by creating an instrument that could have been an integral part of their journey, the Aurora itself?
The Aurora by Habring² closes the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition chapter. This unique timepiece never compromises on the clean and appreciated Felix DNA. From its double-domed sapphire glass to its intricate back engraving, the Aurora embodies elegance and serves as a reliable companion for extreme conditions.

Characteristics
01.
Tide indication
Unlike many standard tide indications, the Aurora's tide indication transits 12 hour and 25 minutes to complete a full cicle. The time span between high and log tide is an approximate 6 hours and 12.5 minutes.
02.
Antarctic Moon Phase
Part of having an accurate tide indication is to have a notion of amplitude. Since the tides are more extreme on full and new moon periods we thought it wise to add this complication to the Aurora.
03.
Aurora
In honor of its name, the Aurora will feature a Super Luminova ring to maximise legibility. Since the moon phase is an intricate part of this measurement it will also be in Super LumiNova.
04.
Top Second
A fairly certain and quick way to double check that the watch is functioning. Seemingly redundant at first, in times where people’s lives dependent on chronometry (especially at sea) such visual confirmations would be essential to not only success but survival as well.
05.
HMS
The Habring Magnetic Shielding plays an essential role in protecting the watch from magnetism. Today we are surrounded more than ever by very strong magnets. The HMS focuses on the crucial and most vulnerable part of the watch, the spiral.
Only 33 units in this version will be made. Delivery is expected in the fall of 2025.
