Vulcain is one of the independent brands that has made its mark on the history of Swiss watchmaking. It was in 1858 when the Ditisheim brothers founded the watchmaking manufacture Ditisheim Frères in La Chaux-de-Fonds. A few years later, in 1894, Maurice Ditisheim, the founder of the manufacture, put one of his sons in charge of the company, which was renamed Vulcain.
Commissioned exclusively for CronotempVs Collectors the "DIDIXEIN" is a limited edition timepiece concieved in collaboration with Vulcain.
Only 47 units of the "DIDIXEIN” will be made. Sales and deliveries will be made in various stages starting september 2023 and depending on production and availability.

Vulcain is one of the independent brands that has left a mark in Swiss watchmaking. In 1858 the Ditisheim brothers founded the watch manufacture Ditisheim Frères in La Chaux-de-Fonds. A few years later, in 1894, the founder of the manufacture Maurice Ditisheim, appoints one of his sons as manager who then renamed the firm Vulcain.

1947
In 1947 the caliber Cricket was launched worlwide. The idea of a mechanical alarm wristwatch was with no doubt a big challenge for the watch engineer Robert Ditisheim who needed 5 years to creat it. Thanks to a double barrel, the Cricket manual wound movement could produce a loud sound for about 20 seconds...

Adapted to modern times, the 39mm Cricket case remains very much in the character of vintage watches while improving the acoustics of the alarm.

An icon amongst presidents
Part of its success was due to the fact that the Vulcain Cricket was referred to as the President ́s watch. It started with Harry Truman, then continued with Eisenhower and then Richard Nixon, all the Presidents at the time wore a Vulcain Cricket on their wrist.

Choice between two worlds
Although the "DIDIXEIN" comes with an open sapphire case back as default, we have decided to include the classic closed back for the very purist collectors.

Absolute visibility
The original dial design is improved by using diferent dial textures/finishings to simulate aging over decades. Super LumiNova blocks are used to increase visibility at night.
